McPherson Asset Management in Dallas, TX begins as an Independent Investment Firm in 1993. The roots of this firm can be traced back to an old Wall Street firm by the name of E. F. Hutton that was founded in 1904. E. F. Hutton was the leader in pioneering an investment service that would be based on predetermined fees and would eliminate commission charges. This totally different and unique concept resulted with the development of a new division in the company called “Hutton Portfolio Management” (HPM). Daniel McPherson was selected and appointed as an apprentice for this pilot program. The prerequisite would require an intensive two years of training and monitoring in discretionary management of selected accounts with different investment objectives. Once the apprenticeship period was completed, all of the successful appointees were given the title Hutton Portfolio Manager and permitted to develop their business accordingly. From July 1, 1987 until June 30, 1990, Daniel McPherson was ranked as one of the top five E. F. Hutton managers in the nation. In 1993, after several acquisitions of the former E. F. Hutton, Daniel McPherson began his new Dallas asset management firm and that same year began working with the Williams Financial Group, which provided the Broker Dealer arm of business.
Heath McPherson (Son) joined McPherson Asset Management in Dallas, TX after almost one year of experience working with Fidelity Retirement Investment Division. Heath was graduated Cum Laude from the University of Iowa in 1994 and obtained his MBA graduating Beta Gamma Sigma from Southern Methodist University. He also obtained his CFA Certification (Chartered Financial Analyst) through the Association of Investment Research. (AMIR) Heath McPherson focuses on developing specific personalized asset allocation models working closely with each individual.
